Hey everyone I know its almost halfway through July but…. Here are the things I have been loving and constantly reaching for during June:
I’ve fallen back in love with the L’Oreal Infallible pro-matte foundation. I love the glowy look for the summer time, but sometimes a little bit of oil-control is necessary. It is a great and affordable foundation from the drug store. The finish is demi-matte so it’s not super drying or flat. The coverage is medium-buildable or can be blended out pretty light.
The next thing I have been loving is the NYX Wonder contour stick. It is a double ended cream product with a highlighter on one side and a contour shade on the other. The highlight is not sparkly and it gives a really natural sheen to the skin. It is a bit tough to blend out and can sometimes look a bit chalky, but if blended immediately its alright! The contour shade is super cool toned and looks amazing under bronzer. I have the shade light/medium and it is great for a medium/pale complexion. I believe this product comes in 3 or 4 shades which is a pretty good shade range for a drugstore product. The formulation of the product is quite blendable and the shape of the bullets make it really easy to use.
The next product I’ve been loving is the Burt’s Bees Lipstick in the shade Nile Nude. If you read my blog post about “Day to Date night lips” you’ll know that I love the shade “Sunset Cruise”. I picked up the nude shade in their range and have not stopped using it since. It is a great everyday pink/nude, it is not a true beige so if you have fairer skin it does not wash you out. It is also super hydrating making a super comfortable lip color. It does not last long on it’s own but with lip liner underneath it lasts a long time.
The last thing I have been loving this month is a jewelry piece! This silver bar necklace is from a local Winnipeg jeweller named Hillary Druxman. She makes high quality jewelry in her shop in downtown Winnipeg. Her stuff is very up my street being simplistic and very wearable. This necklace is amazing and goes with everything. She also produces more dressy pieces, but majority of her jewelry is classy and simple The quality is incredible and the price is very affordable especially being a student on a budget. She also does a lot of collaborations with charities and has some beautiful pieces that 100% of proceeds are donated to the associated charity. I really admire her work and her philosophy. Definitely check her stuff out!
